Former Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny WIlliams says he plans to skip next weekend’s special tribute dinner being held in his honour.

The snub came as a surprise to Williams’s successor, Kathy Dunderdale, who is set to be formally acclaimed as the new leader of the provincial Progressive Conservatives that same weekend.

Williams, who left the province on Wednesday, would only say “ask the Premier” when asked whether there was any tension between him and Dunderdale. Dunderdale declined to discuss the matter.

However it is widely speculated that the real reason is that Danny Williams is a childish, petulant prick.
